6 years old

Wow, how is it possible that Sofia is 6 already!  We celebrated with presents in the park on Friday and she has her party tomorrow.  Much smaller this year with only 12 kids coming and of course, at her beloved Chuck E Cheese!  Plans are all made, pink and zebra goodies.  I must say that I can not wait to see her in the birthday outfit!

Today was the craziest longest day!  This is what we did today:

9-10 – Ballet

10:30-12:20 – Living Christmas Tree practice at Church (can I just say Sofia gets to do something REALLY special)

12:30-3:30  - Nutcracker practice

4:00 – go to Costco to order the cake (yes, Costco cake and yes, the night before the party)

5pm – finally home for the day and had to practice hair for the Festival of Lights performance next weekend.

I am ready for BED!

Dance, Dance, Dance

Sofia is so busy with dance these days, it seems that is all we do!  She has 3 hours of dance on Saturdays – 2 of which are for the Nutcracker.  I took a moment this Saturday to snap a few pictures of her before class started.

Zoo Field Trip Fun

Today Sofia’s class went to the zoo on their first field trip of the year.  It was fun – but hot.  AZ Fall has left us and it was 95 degrees outside.  Other than that a good time was had by all.  Something I thought was interesting – children could not bring and money and no food or gift shop items could be purchased – by children or parents.  WOW – seems like these days we sure do have to worry about hurting everyone’s feelings a little too much.  I was responsible for keeping up with Sofia and one other child, however, we ended up staying with 2 other groups so it was 3 adults and 6 children – pretty easy stuff!

The last picture I took of the day – she was mad at a friend that “cheated” in a coin dropping game in a well.

Tons of Halloween Fun

Wow, what a week!  Sofia had a pumpkin walk, trick-or-treating at my workplace, trick or treating with friends, a trip to the pumpkin patch and a Halloween party!  It was an exhausting week!  Lots of pics below of all our fun!

I am a terrible blogger!

Hi everyone, so sorry I have been absent.  Sometimes I think my blogging is like my working out – difficult for me to stick with!  But none the less, I am back!  Of course nothing very exciting to report but let’s see…..

  • thanks for all the comments on the Chuck E Cheese Party – I have to make the reservations today (insert my sad face).  Gotta get the goody bags going and all the other stuff to make it as cute as can be
  • Halloween costumes are all set – Sofia is a Genie and a lion (depending on where we are going)
  • Roll Tide
  • Arizona fall still = 90+ degrees – I mean how am I supposed to take cute fall pumpkin patch pictures with Sofia sweating and being blinded by the sun?
  • Today while running (or walking) on the treadmill I watched VH1 – I never watch VH1.  I learned that Pearl Jam has a new album out.  WOW talk about taking me back to the good ole days of high school….oh the memories
  • I have officially sworn off eBay
  • I have also completed by Etsy Fall shopping for Sofia and got such CUTE things I highly recommend it over eBay any day!
  • Thanks to QVC most of birthday and Christmas shopping is completed.  LOVE easy pay!
  • I am so busy with Sofia’s Fall stuff there is not even a weekend that I could schedule Sofia to get 6 year pictures taken…ugh
  • I let Sofia (for the first time EVER) pick out what dress she wanted to wear for Christmas (see below)

silver

She picked the dress and shoes.

  • Lilly is a wild maniac dog that now weighs 50lbs!  She also enjoys destroying things (read she bit a hole in the shirt of a brand new Etsy outfit)—I was able to fix it.
  • I really can not believe that my baby is about to be 6 years old.
  • Oh and Sofia has had a substitute teacher all but 2 weeks of the school year (that started 8/10).  Yesterday she was back (she has been sick – some sort of stomach thing) and today --- out again.  The principal said they were looking at a permanent solution to her.  YES – that makes me happy actually.  I love the long-term sub they have had I just wish the kids would know for sure it was either Miss H (the sub) or a whole new teacher.
  • I am off work today and going to surprise Sofia at lunch and bring her home after lunch – today is early release day.  Do you guys have early release day?  Every Wednesday kids get out of school at 12:30.

Bye for now and I pinky swear to be back to my regularly blogging self!

Yucky (I mean Chuck E) Cheese

So Sofia will be 6 in about 6 weeks and much to my dismay, she wants her party at Chuck E Cheese.  Now you guys know me, this is not my style of party.  Remember last year’s cowgirl party I wrote about here, here and here?

So I need HELP!   How do I make a Chuck E Cheese party cute?  I mean last year the piñata was the size of a Smart Car!  What am I going to do???

“Arise” at FBC

The Children’s choir sang Michael W. Smith’s “A New Hallelujah” at church today, it was GREAT! Sofia actually had a fever last night and this morning slightly so I did act a little like a stage mom and dose her up on Tylenol to help her make it through the performances! It was really neat to get to see the children perform!
